Warming up in Kyrgyzstan

Written by Anna: Philippe and Yannick arrived in Karkara base camp (2200m) on Saturday at midnight after having made a bus trip of 8 hours, a part along the Issyk Kul lake (one of the largest in the world). The day after they took a helicopter and landed in South Inylcheck (Khan Tengri/Pobeda) in fantastic weather. Base Camp is nice and comfortable and they both feel good. Now they already started acclimatizing by doing round turns to camp 1 (4200m) to get in shape. They go light and fast making it a 3,5 hour climb all together.

They carry a SPOT Messenger (GSP tracker) throughout the expedition and you can follow their position on the Khan-Tengri expedition page.
