We reached the summit of Mount Vinson (4,892m) at 7:00 PM under severe conditions. Visibility was poor and the temperature plummeted with a windchill of -45ºC. This successful ascent marked the completion of my sixth of the Seven Summits.

Jean-Marc Wojcik and I climbed Ama Dablam (6,812m) in 16 days. Being there outside of the peak season, we were fortunate to find only about a dozen people on the mountain.

I battled the harsh elements of the Pennine Way to win and set a new course record on the Spine Challenger. This was a non-stop 174km (108 miles) self-supported journey through the English winter.

After numerous trips to Kalymnos, where we have climbed nearly 600 routes at these exceptional cliffs, it was time to share our experience. To complement the information presented here, we have written a book dedicated to the finest 300 climbing routes in Greece.

Leonidio and Kyparissi, with their 2,000 routes beautifully set between the sea and the mountains, have progressively risen to the ranks of Greece’s premier climbing destinations. It was only natural to dedicate an article to them and include them in our book on the 300 finest routes in Greece.

Following the exceptional sites of Kalymnos and Leonidio, a new and equally promising destination is currently being developed. With its 600 routes, Manikia fully deserves an article, as well as its place in our book on the 300 finest routes in Greece.

A total of 6 great multi-pitch routes at Le Brévent, accounting for 1,200 meters of climbing: Voie Frison-Roche, Catyoucha Man, La Piste Oubliée (TD / 6b / 170m), Ex Libris, Poème à Lou, and La Fin de Babylone.

The Argentière basin is home to many grandiose peaks. Here is a selection of three superb routes on the Minaret (3,450m): Versant Satanique, Voyage en Pierre Sainte, and Rasta Metal, as well as two easier routes on the Aiguille du Refuge (3,057m).

The Aiguille du Belvédère is the highest peak in the Aiguilles Rouges and offers a superb viewpoint of the Mont Blanc Massif. Its steep, 300m South-East face offers two beautiful routes by Michel Piola: Baisers Orageux (ED- / 6c+) and Le Mariage de la terre et du vent (ED / 7a).
