The Nid d’Aigle is the start of the Gouter route of Mont Blanc but it is also a great place for Trail running… Trail: Bellevue – Nid d’Aigle.

Anna and I made a new Trail going to the Nid d’Aigle, 24km and +1,250m/-2,000m. This time we took Bellevue cable car to avoid doing once again the climb from Les Houches to Col de Voza.

Trail description: start from Bellevue or Les Houches which adds +800m. Follow the Trail going to Col du Mont Lachat and continues to Nid d’Aigle (2,370m). Then take the Trail going to l’Are and Bionnassay. This trail is very nice, close to the Bionnassay glacier but it is very steep with some metallic stairs and cables. Continue to the village of Bionnassay where there is nice Auberge for a lunch. From there, follow the trail Grand Tour du Pays du Mont Blanc (TPMB) to Mont Forchet. Pick one of the several trails going to Le Crozat. Follow Grand Tour du Pays du Mont Blanc to the Col de Forclaz. Continue on the TPMB to Les Houches.
