Today we were 80 runners to take the start of 11th Trail de Gorbio, a nice trail running race of 42 km and 2900 meters of ascent near Menton.

Distance: 42 km, ascent: 2900m / descent: 2900m, 5h21, I ranked 21st.

Description: the Trail starts in the village of Gorbio (356m), close to Menton and goes South along the GR 51 toward the Mont Gros (689m), then it stays under the East side of Mont Agel to the Col de la Madonne (926m). Then it goes to Les Assalins, the col St Bernard (736m) and descends to the Pas d’Ogrand (406m) before going all the way up to the Col du Farguet (1083m). It descends to the Col de Ségra, old Castillon and then joins the village of Sainte Agnes (602m). A steep climb leads to the top of the Cime du Baudon (1266m) one of the best view points over the French riviera. Then follows a non-stop descent to Gobio via the Ravin du Rank.
