The Salso Moreno and the Lakes of Vens are popular places for trail running and hiking in the Alpes Maritimes. Located at the North of Mercantour National Park, close to La Bonette pass, they offer great Alpine views in a peaceful environment.

We made a 18 km and +1,200 meters loop starting from Le Pra going to Salso Moreno and the Lakes of Vens.

From Le Pra follow a small trail to Pas de la Croix Blanche (signpost #42), turn East and follow a grassy alpine valley along the Salso Moreno.

Continue to the Pas de Morgon (2,714 m). Descend to Col du Fer (#35) and Collet de Tortisse (#35a).

Continue to the Lakes of Vens and climb the Crête de la Côte. Descend to the Maison Forestière de Tortisse (#34).

Reach the Plateau de Morgon (#33) and descend to Le Pra.
