Aiguille du Midi – La Dame du Lac (Mont Blanc Massif)
Morgan and I climbed La Dame du Lac at Aiguille du Midi (Mont Blanc Massif), a nice route overall with a very nice first half, especially the second pitch.
Aiguille du Chardonnet – Forbes Ridge (Mont Blanc Massif)
Aiguille Chardonnet (3,824m) is a beautiful peak of Mont Blanc Massif and the Arête Forbes (Forbes Ridge, AD, III), probably its most popular route.
Roi de Siam – Petit Capoussin (Mont Blanc Massif)
Roi de Siam (3,693m) is a relatively small peak surrounded by famous ones like Grand Capucin, Mont Blanc du Tacul… Nevertheless, it offers great routes on a perfect granit such as Petit Capoussin (ED-, 300m, 6b+)
Aiguille du Peigne – Contamine Vaucher (Mont Blanc Massif)
Contamine, Labrunie and Vaucher opened their route on Aiguille du Peigne almost 60 years ago. It is a classic, nice, logical route and despite the reasonable grades (TD, 6a 400m), we ended up with pumped arms.
Brévent – La Piste Oubliée (Aiguilles Rouges)
The La Piste Oubliée is a nice short route in Brevent (2,525m) with a nice 6b pitch. It is a good alternative to the crowded Frison-Roche (yellow), La Fin de Babylone (red) or Poème à Lou.
Via Alpina – 1000 Km across the Alps

Wishing to run across the Triglav, Dolomites, Tyrol, la Bavaria, Interlaken…, they decided to follow a combination of the red and green Trail of the Via Alpina. To limit the overall distance to 1,000 km, they decided to start in the Triglav National Park (Slovenia) and finish in Chamonix (France). From the Triglav, they followed the Red Trail across Italy, Austria, Germany to Lichtenstein. From there, they switched to the Green trail to Lenk in Switzerland. After Lenk, they made their own trail to Chamonix, France.
Col du Passon and Col Chardonnet (Mont Blanc Massif)
There are endless possibilities of ski touring between Argentière and Le Tour, including the famous 2 and 3 cols. This option is a 20 kilometers loop around the Aiguille du Chardonnet.
Ski on Argentière glacier (Mont Blanc Massif)
Today was a simple day of ski around Argentière with a good snow and clear sky.
Ski-Alpinism: Col des Cristaux (Mont Blanc Massif)
The Northeast face of Col des Cristaux is a 500 meters slope, just East of Les Courtes. I planned to ski it down but the snow conditions were not ideal, so I just climbed it up and down.
Passy – Lachat d’En Haut (Haute Savoie)
Looking for new Trail, Anna and I found a scenic one from Passy to the base of Aiguille de Varan. 20km, +1,150m / -1,150m.
Les Houches – Mont Borrel (Haute Savoie)
We resumed our trail running training but there are still lot of snow above 1600m, so we found a new short Trail around Les Houches to Mont Borrel. Charousse, Mont Blanc Massif behind (© A. Gatta)
Ski-Alpinism: NE Face of Les Courtes (Mont Blanc Massif)
I took advantage of great snow conditions to ski down the Northeast face of Les Courtes in Mont Blanc Massif
