Aiguille d’Argentière – Glacier du Milieu (Mont Blanc Massif)
No matter how many times I have climbed Aiguille d’Argentière, I keep enjoying it. From Les Grands Montets it’s a short and nice ski touring day, from Argentière it’s a long and good training.
Domes de Miage – Armancette (Mont Blanc)
Dômes de Miage is a real classic of ski touring of Mont Blanc Massif. Normally done over 2 days with a night in Tré la Tête or Conscrits hut, it can be done in a long day from Le Cugnon.
Aiguille du Midi – Mallory Porter (Mont Blanc Massif)
aking advantage of conditions and a good trail in the route, Pascal and I climbed the Mallory Porter four times in over a week.
Climbing in Le Chaudan (Alpes Maritimes)
Le Chaudan is a nice little cliff with 7 routes opened by Guillaume Ciais. It is limited but definitively wroth a visit.
Salso Moreno – Vens (Mercantour)
The Salso Moreno and the Lakes of Vens are popular places for trail running and hiking in the Alpes Maritimes.
Climbing: Dissipation (Aiglun)
Aiglun is probably the best cliff of Alpes Maritimes for multi-pitch routes. We took advantage this hot November to climb Dissipation a great route in the center of the cliff of Giet
Cime de Baudon (Préalpes de Nice)
After several trails in Haute Savoie, we are back in the French Riviera (Cime de Baudon) to enjoy running under the warm sun of this hot November. Map of this nice Trail in Préalpes de Nice (© P. Gatta)
Tour du Beaufortain (Savoie)
Beaufortain is a nice region of Savoie department, South of Mont Blanc massif. With numerous good trails, amazing views over the mountains, large lakes, alpine meadow, it is a great destination for trail running.
Sous Dine (Bornes Massif)
After a few nice trails in the Bornes- Aravis Massif, we decided to go back there, this time to run around Sous Dine peak and the Plateau des Glières.
Trou de la Mouche (Aravis Massif)
Despite its weird name, the Trou de la Mouche (the fly’s hole) is a very nice “peak” of the Aravis massif. It is actually like a natural tunnel in the cliff of Rocher Perfia peak, at 2,467m.
La Tournette (Bornes Massif)
La Tournette (2,351m), is a very scenic peak of the Bornes Massif. The West side has big cliffs and offers amazing view over Annecy and its lake, while the pastures of the East side are perfect for trail running.
Crêt de Chalam (Jura)
For once, we left the Mont Blanc Massif and went to the Jura for trail in the Valserine area (Crêt de Chalam)
