Climbing: video of Anna in Arrow Head
Saturday Anna and I went to the Mesa Verde sector in the Gorges du Loup. This nice little cliff along the river has 30+ routes between 6c and 8a+ and most of them are excellent. This time we made a video of Anna climbing Arrow Head, probably the most famous 8a in the Gorges.
Trail: Bousieyas – St Sauveur sur Tinee
At the end of the Month, I will go to Egypt to participate to the Sahara Race, a 250 km self-supported foot race which crosses the Wadi Al-Hitan (Whales Valley) and ends at the Giza Pyramids. A week ago, I did the last long Trail of my preparation for the race. A 60 km trail […]

Climbing: Arche de Deverse
L’Arche de Déversé is a relatively new sector in the Gorges du Loup, 20 minutes walk further South of Déversé. There are 11 routes from 6c to 8c; the easiest ones are short and bouldery, the hardest ones are longer and nicer. Saturday Anna and I went there for the second time, Anna sent the […]
Berghaus photo shoot in the Dolomites
Anna and I are just back from a week of photo shooting in the Dolomites for Berghaus. It was an intense week where Leo Houlding, Leah Crane, Rob Jarman, Anna Gatta and me were being Directed and filmed by Alastair Lee and photographed by Pete Webb. People from Berghaus and Pentland were participating to drive […]
Trail: Greolieres – Aiglun
Anna and I wanted to make a trail running around Aiglun to take some photos of its great cliffs. To make it interesting, we started from Gréolieres, crossed Gréolieres les Neiges and the Esteron river and went up to the Barre de l’Entonnoir on the other side of the Gorges to have a nice view […]
Trail: Plan du Var – Ferion – Col de la Porte
For this second trail since I came back from the Kangchenjunga, I wanted to check how I felt on a “long” trail. So I went around Plan du Var and Mont Ferion where there are plenty of choices to make nice and steep trails. The one described here is quite nice as it follows the […]
Climbing: Dies Irae and Deverse
As always when the temperatures rise on the French Riviera, Deverse becomes the best climbing cliff. Unfortunately with the rain and moisture we had in the past weeks, many routes are wet but there still are enough to make a big climbing day. I still need to make some volume training before trying new project […]
Trail: Suquet – Col de la Porte – Peira Cava
After almost two months spent in Nepal for the Kangchenjunga expedition, I was really excited to run again. Earlier this week I resumed the interval training and Sunday we went to the Vesubie valley for a short and very pleasant Trail. There are only 1250 m of ascent, mostly on gentle slopes and the trail […]
Climbing: Dies Irae
Less than 24 hours after getting from the Kangchenjunga expedition we went to Deverse in the Gorges du Loup for a photoshot for Berghaus. I was totally exhausted after 4 routes but I could make a descent climb in Deverse Satanique and went up in Dies Irae for the photos. It was good to rock […]
Kangchenjunga 8586 m, Nepal

The Kangchenjunga is the second least climbed peak of the 14 peaks over 8,000 meters. Philippe joined a French-Swiss team to climb the Southwest face. They reached the summit on May 19th in challenging weather.
Trail: St Jeannet – Around Jas Jausserand
Yesterday I did a mix of road running (23.5 km and +450 m) and a trail running at St Jeannet, around the Jas Jausserand (13 km and +600 m). This short trail is nice and it’s perfect for training, a bit technical and rocky. Since it’s a loop, it can be done in any direction. […]
